Heinz Mauser

Porceleyne Fles, Delft

Heinrich Wilhelm (Heinz) Mauser (Amsterdam, 1868 - Delft, 1940) was a member of staff and director of De Porceleyne Fles in Delft.

Mauser studied at the Handelsschool in Amsterdam. After that he worked at the office of Hoffmann Schöffer, who mainly worked with Eastern Europe. From 1891 he worked at De Porceleyne Fles office. He had great interest in the company and the subject of chemistry researcher, which he made himself more and more self-sufficient in a short period of time. He experimented with making various glazes for both ornamental work and building work.

Among other things, he contributed to the development of the sectional technique, where the pitch distribution of a tile table is adapted to the image. Just as it happens for example with stained glass windows. These tiles were also well suited for outdoor use. He was therefore the cradle of the Porceleyne Bottle architecture department. Mauser made art trips to Paris, London, Munich and Italy. First together with Labouchere and later with Leon Senf. Senf made many of the designs of products made with the Porceleyne Bottle.
