Karel Frederik Hugo (Hugo) Schorer, Lord of Westkapelle, Welzinge and Nieuwerve (Middelburg, June 5, 1946) is a Dutch politician of the CDA.
Hugo Schorer is a member of the family Schorer and a son of First Chamber member Mr. Tjalling Aedo Johan Willem Schorer, Lord of Westkapelle, Welzinge and Nieuwerve (1909-1988). He obtained his high school diploma at the Middelburg Municipal Gymnasium. He studied law in Utrecht, where he was senator veteranorum of the Utrecht Student Corps.
Schorer was the dike dike of the Walcheren water board until January 1, 1996 when this function fell due to the merger of the Zeeland waterscapes above the Westerschelde to the Waterschap Zeeuwse Eilanden. In September of that year he was appointed as acting mayor of the Utrecht municipality of Renswoude. Almost two years later, Schorer was appointed by Royal Decree as Mayor of that municipality. In mid-2011 he retired.
