Jan Oosterhaven


Jan Oosterhaven (Gouda, 1945) is a Dutch scientist. Prof. Jan Oosterhaven was professor of general economics at the University of Groningen until June 2010. His research concerns the Interregional input-output analysis, Regional Demo-Economic Models, Economic Impact of Transport Infrastructure, Evaluation of Regional and Urban Policy.

These interests also made him politically active. He has been a member of the State Committee for Economy and Mobility of the Provincial States of Groningen since 2007. For the City Party in Groningen he is the list diver in the elections for the City Council in 2010.

Jan Oosterhaven graduated in Groningen in 1981 after graduating at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam in 1969. His dissertation received the title "Interregional Input-Output Analysis and Dutch Regional Policy Problems". In 1990 he became professor in Groningen.
