Karnataka (band)


Karnataka is a progressive rock band from London. The band was founded in Wales in 1997. Karnataka's music is a synthesis of traditional Celtic music and progressive rock. All the years of her existence, the band has been characterized by many changes in the occupation. In 2004 and 2010, much of the band had to be replaced. Since 2011, Karnataka has a solid foundation.

History

The band was founded in 1997 by guitarist Ian Jones, singer Rachel Jones and keyboardist Jonathan Edwards. The three had previously worked together in various local bands in the Swansea region. In a later stage, guitarist Paul Davies and drummer Gavin Griffiths were added. This fifth of them released their titled debut album in 1998, followed by 'The Storm' in 2000. This latter album was received lukewarm, but the third album 'Delicate Flame of Desire' from 2003 has received promising critics.

The surprise was therefore great when the band announced in 2004 to stop for personal reasons. The members of the band each went their own way. Singer Rachel Jones worked on an album of Mostly Autumn. Jonathan Edwards, together with Gavin Griffiths, Paul Davies and Anne-Marie Helder, who also sang in Karnataka, joined the band Panic Room.

In 2006, singer Lisa Fury was added to the band and toured the band with old and newly written material by England. In the meanwhile, the band in the studio, which in the spring of 2010 resulted in the album The gathering light. Current Composition Discography Albums
