Mirjam Ohringer


Mirjam Ohringer (Amsterdam, October 26, 1924 - May 29, 2016) is a survivor of the Jewish sequel. Her parents were Jews from Galicia. During the German occupation, she spread the illegal truth. In 1942 she dived under, thus surviving the war. After the war she married a Dutchman and received Dutch nationality. She joined the CPN and was politically active. She also became a board member of the Sachsenhausen Committee, of the United Kingdom and was in the 4 and 5 May committee. She also gave guided tours in the Verzetsmuseum.

In 1995 Ohringer told her life story at the USC Shoah Foundation Institute, founded in 1994 by Steven Spielberg. This story is recorded in the 2000 Collection of Witnesses of the Jewish Historical Museum.

For her work, she received an Austrian award in 1997. At the 2010 Crystalline Memorial, she was one of the speakers.

Mirjam Ohringer joined the book in 2008 with a DVD A Story of Thousands - grandchildren about the Shoah heritage.
