Organoriumiumchemie

In the organory chemistry, compounds in the strict definition are studied in which a direct link between carbon and rhenium is present. Renium is a metal so that organ organometry is a subdiscipline of organometallic chemistry.

Renium is a member of Group 7 of the Periodic Table and organorium compounds are based on renium with oxidation number + IV or + V. An important starting material for organorenic compounds is direnium decacarbonyl that is formed in the carbonylation of rhenium (VII) oxide. Methylrenium trioxide finds use as a catalyst.
