SteepleChase Records is a Danish jazz record label. It was founded in 1972 by former student Nils Winther, who made recordings in Jazzhus Montmartre and was occasionally authorized to release the material. The label became a haven for artists who no longer got a contract with major record companies. Since its foundation, SteepleChase Records has released numerous albums, including Chet Baker, Paul Bley, Harold Danko, Kenny Drew, Stan Getz, Dexter Gordon, Shirley Horn, Thad Jones, Jackie McLean, Tete Montoliu, Horace Parlan, Doug Raney and Archie Shepp.
