Dikke Mathile is a Belgian beer of high fermentation.
The beer has been brewed in Strubbe Brewery in Ichtegem since 1986. It is an amber beer with an alcohol content of 6%. The beer is originally brewed on behalf of a number of Oostendse beer lovers with the intention of brewing an Eastend beer. The label is designed by artist Redgy Van Troost from Oostende, with the casino building and the image 'De Zee' by sculptor Georges Grard. This image is commonly referred to as "Dikke Mathile", hence the name of the beer. Because of the absence of permission from the artist's relatives, another image is displayed on the current label.
