Tilt cutter

A tile cutter

A tile cutter is a piece of tool to 'cut' glass or ceramic tiles. There are manual and electrical tools that work in a different way. Manual tile cutter

The standard hand-operated tile cutter consists of a platform with a mobile lever mounted on it. The lever is provided at the bottom of a cutting wheel and a breaker.

The tile is laid on the platform. If the platform is equipped with a rotating shop hook, an angle can be set. With the lever, the cutting wheel is pressed firmly on the tile. Then the lever is pulled or pushed horizontally across the tile so that the cutting wheel makes a scratch in the tile. Finally, the wheel is moved past the tile and the crusher is placed on the edge of the tile. By squeezing it firmly with the lever, the tile breaks along the newly created scratch.

A good execution of this process increases the quality of the result. However, a skew, curve or multiple fracture can never be excluded. Electric tile cutter

Comprises a workbench, adapted to the right tiling of the tile, and a crochet grinder, which carries out the carving work. These tools can work more accurately than a manual tile cutter.
