Dasytricha is a genus of vortexes from the Isotrichidae family. The gender comprises three types of D. ruminantium, D. hukuokaensis and D. kabanii. D. Ruminantium is the oldest known species of this genus, D. hukuokaensis was first described in 1954 and D. Kabanii in 2002. This genus is recognized by the cilia or vibratory spirits running in a spiral with respect to the longitudinal axis opposed to species of the genus Isotricha, another genus of the Isotrichidae family, with the cilia walking in rows parallel to the longitudinal axis.
