J.H.M.O. (Joos) Truijen (October 22, 1944) is a Dutch politician of the CDA.
He has been in the health care for a long time. In 1978, he was elected in Venray as municipal councilor for the "Cooperation" (later CDA), which he would stay until 1983 when he wanted to focus more on his social career. In 1986 he returned to the city council as a CDA list trainer and in 1989 he became an elder. In december 1994, Truijen was appointed Mayor of Hunsel, and in addition he was acting mayor of Heythuysen as of August 2002. On January 1, 2007, the municipalities of Haelen, Heythuysen, Hunsel and Roggel and Neer merged into the new municipality of Leudal. This ended his mayor's retirement on which he retired early.
