The Public Prosecutor is a lawyer in the Netherlands who is also appointed as an official of the Tax Office and who represents the State of the Netherlands in litigation for the civil court which concerns the receipt of government taxes. The National Attorney is not the same as the Land Attorney: the latter represents the State in all other lawsuits (including cases for the taxpayer).
