Joseph Salemi


Joseph 'Pete' Salemi (Corleone, September 15, 1902 - January 17, 2003) was an American jazz trombonist.

Salemi was the youngest in a family of four children. At the age of fourteen he went to America with his father. As a trombonist he accompanied Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland among others. In addition, he performed recordings with Gene Kardos orchestra in 1931. Salemi also played in several other bigbands. He was the musician of the party at the inaugurations of the presidents Harry Truman (1945) and Dwight Eisenhower (1953).
