Sierra Nevada de Mérida (commonly known as Sierra de Mérida) is a mountain range belonging to the Andes Cordillery, which crosses the western part of Venezuela, particularly the Venezuelan states of Lara, Apure, Barinas, Mérida, Táchira and Trujillo these last three are almost covered in their entirety by the Sierra.)
