The Family Burnout is a comic strip created by Erwin Van Pottelberge. This fire prevention strip was established in collaboration with Oscare vzw; a aftercare and research center for burns and scars. The intention is to make children aware of the dangers of playing with fire and the dangers of fire in general.
The strip is set up as a game quiz led by a flamboyant quizmaster called Bram Brulé. This quizmaster continues to issue a problem with multiple choice questions related to fire safety. On the comics next to it, the question posed is written in a hilarious situation; often with disastrous consequences for the Family Burnout. Their house burns down to the ground repeatedly.
