Vincent Hunink (Nijmegen, 1962) is a Dutch classic and translator. He became assistant professor in classical and early Christian Greek and Latin at Radboud University in 2003. He used to be, among other things, Latin teacher at the University of Leiden. biography
After studying classical languages, Hunink received a comment on the third book of the Pharsalia of Roman poet Lucanus in 1992. His research focuses on, among other things, the Latin authors Lucanus, Apuleius, Tertullian and Augustine.
He is also editor of, among others, Hermeneus (the magazine of the Dutch Classical Covenant). Hunink is especially known for an inescapable series of Latin translations, for which he was awarded in 2006 with the Oikos public award and in 2011 with a translation prize from the Dutch Literature Fund.
