Wat Chai Watthanaram
Wat Chai Watthanaram (Thai: วัด ไชย วัฒนา ราม) is a Buddhist temple (some) in the Thai historical park of Ayutthaya. The temple is located on the western shore of the Menam River (Chao Phraya), near the island of Ayutthaya. What is considered to be one of Ayutthaya's most beautiful temples, is a major tourist attraction.
The temple building began in 1630 on behalf of King Prasat Thong commemorating the fact that his mother lived in the area. The name of the temple literally means "the temple of long rule and the glorious era." The temple was built in the style of the Khmer, which was popular at that time.
