The Belarussian Journalists Association (BAJ) is a non-governmental organization in Belarus. Background

The BAJ was founded in 1995 and is affiliated with the International Federation of Journalists. The Association is a Partner of the Non-Boundary Reporting.

The association represents nearly 1,000 media workers and under difficult circumstances strives for the freedom of expression and the rights of receiving and disseminating information, promoting professional standards of journalism.

The association defends members who are intimidated, bullied, banned or subjected to criminal prosecution. Journalists who are threatened with death are provided by the BAJ for legal assistance and helped by appealing the perpetrators. Awards

In 2003, the BAJ received the Golden Union of the World Association of Newspapers.
