The northeast side of the cite internationally seen from the sky
Cité International is a district in the French city of Lyon. The area is located between the Parc de la Tête d'Or and the Rhône River, and has international fame because it is almost entirely designed by the Italian architect Renzo Piano.
At the place where the cité is international, until Lyon was held in Lyon until 1984. Renzo Piano's current design has been chosen after a design contest on how to fill in the left-hand space. The building was completed in 2006.
The complex is built around a half covered pedestrian street. There is a convention hall, a large cinema, a four star hilton hotel, offices and apartments. In the complex there is also the Art Contemporain of Lyon, in a refurbished part of Interpol's former exhibition halls and headquarters.
