Only Lesser


Leonard "Len" King Lesser (New York City, New York, December 3, 1922 - Burbank, California, February 16, 2011) was an American actor, especially known for his role as "Uncle Leo" in the comedy series Seinfeld.

Lesser obtained a degree at City College in New York in 1942. Then he served in the US Army during World War II. He debuted in 1949 and played many guest roles in TV series, including All in the Family, Bonanza, Kojak, Airwolf, Tour of Duty and ER. His last role he played in 2009; a guest role in the hit series Castle.

Lesser, however, was also featured in films such as Kelly's Heroes (1970), Papillon (1973) and The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976). He also played the role of Garvin, a comrade of Frank, in Everybody Loves Raymond.

Lesser was married to Janice between 1954 and 1982, leaving behind 2 children. He died at cancer at the age of 88.
