(city party) PLOP, abbreviation of Political Local Independent Party (formerly Political Logical Honest Party), is a Dutch, local political party in the municipality of Assen.
PLOP was founded on May 4, 1993 by Mr. Willem Homan and Albert Mast. The main point was that Assen had to shake his image of boring civilian city, and become a "bustling" city.
At the 1994 municipal elections, the party gained 5 seats, including skater Hilbert van der Duim, who was chosen as a list diver by means of preferential votes in the council. In 1998, there were even 8 seats, and the party should deliver two deputies.
Willem Homan's founder's role did not seem to be good, and he left politics out of time. However, the party remained, and at the 2002 election six seats were reached, and the party was given one seat in the new college of B & W. In 2005, the party received 5 seats and was allowed to resubmit an alderman. On July 8, 2005, the meaning of PLOP of Political Logical Sincerely became the Political Local Independent Party. After the municipal council elections in 2014, PLOP once again joined the college of B & W, with a constituency. Strong Local
In the elections to the Provincial States of March 18, 2015, PLOP was part of a partnership of local parties, which participated under the name Sterk Lokaal in Drenthe. The party took one seat in the Provincial States of Drenthe. Externe link
