Venco

Venco was a dummy manufacturer from 1878 to 1995 and has since been a drop mark. History

The company was founded in Amsterdam in 1878 by Gerrit van Voornveld under the name of Van Voornveld & Co. (Venco). The steam plant was located at the Spuistraat and produced peppermint, drop and jujubes (cabbage bons). When the Headquarters Office was built in this place, one moved to the Singel. The coughing pastilles were keenly deducted during the 1891 flu epidemic, so the plant grew.

In 1899 the factory was taken over by the Dieperink brothers and in 1904 they moved to the Lindengracht. Especially peppermint, anise tablets, gum baskets and oat straw pastilles were then produced. In 1915, the company was formally transformed into an NV.

In 1959, moved to Naarden.

In 1965, Venco's share capital was acquired by Red Band. Until 1977, Venco remained independent, after which it was incorporated into the United Drop Factory (VDF), which was taken over by the Central Sugar Society in 1986.

In 1995 the factory in Naarden was closed, and production was transferred to Red Band factories in Roosendaal.

Today, Venco is a drop mark of Cloetta Holland.
