It's the locksmith of the village, and it's always too lenient, like the whole village, to accept the idea of singing Assurancetourix's bard, but when it's not there, as in the altitude of the thousand and one-hour Asterix, he feels the lack.
The original French name is only given in the first episode of the series: Cetautomatix, from French "c'est automatique". It represents the heavy industry of the village and is one of the most irascible and ruthless protagonists. He is the only one who can compete in strength with Obelix, but does not get to his level. Always skeptical about the merchandise of his friend Ordinalfabetix often bites with him even though his favorite goal is the bacon Assurancentourix who loves to hammer every time he suspects he wants to sing. The genesis of the character is rather odd: since the first adventure, in Asterix the Gallic appears in the final banquet a character who seems more nervous than the others by the song of Assurancentourix, although the features are not the famous ones of Automatix.
