Johannes P. Hendrikse (Rotterdam, May 14, 1920 - 13 January 1945) was a Dutch resistance warrior during the Second World War.
Hendrikse (pseudonym: 'Louis') was employed as office clerk during the occupation in Rotterdam. He was a member of the local team team 'Team Jos' ('Jos' = Jan Arie de Groot), where he performed hand-and-mortar services and served as a courier.
On the Crooswijksekade there was an old rocket ship, 'The Three Brothers', in which all the weapons cast for the Domestic Armed Forces in the vicinity of Rotterdam were stored. Two men were waiting for the old boat daily. One day, one of the two guards had to be replaced, although no one could actually be missed. After some of the KP's insistence, it was decided to appoint Hendrikse for this, which was eager to finally get a "important" assignment.
After instructing him, the gunman of the B.S. in Rotterdam, wearing the hiding name 'Nol', left Hendrikse with his mate 'Nico' (Niek Koers) on the boat. A few minutes later, an invasion was made by the Germans: the boat was betrayed. Already shooting, Hendrikse tries to escape, but is killed deadly. 'Nico' is arrested and later fired on the Coolsingel.
Hendrikse had received a letter from a courier of the team team before his assignment, with the address of the instructor, where he should report something special. He was - probably by the excitement - forgotten to destroy the paper after he learned from his head. When the invasion began, he clamped it in his hand to destroy the first one at the first. A few days later, the instructor is a police officer on the sidewalk: "On Saturday, a boy was shot on the Crooswijksekade. The body was brought to the desk by the Germans after examination. I warned you to be more cautious in the future. When we broke our hand, we found this. Good evening!"
Astonishingly, the instructor looks at the crumpled note that he holds in his hand, which is clearly disturbingly written.
