Kuenstler Script is a formal script font. The original letterset was designed in the internal studio of D. Stempel AG, with the name Künstlerschreibschrift, referring to artistic handwriting. The type is based on late nineteenth-century English copper engravings, which in turn inspired inspired by former eighteenth-century writers George Bickham and George Shelley, engaging in a writing style called round hand.
In 1957, Hans Bohn added an additional bold font, Kuenstler Script Black.
