Shacklewell

Shacklewell is a district located in London Borough of Hackney, London. Shacklewell Green. Stored by wikitesto

Shacklewell was one of the four small villages belonging to the Hackney Parish (Shacklewell, Dalston, Newington and Kingsland) that were grouped for economic reasons. The village of Shacklewell was placed on the same village green (in Great Britain was a park located in the center of historic villages, in this case the Hackney Parish), along Shacklewell Lane. In the nineteenth century, Schacklewell extended to the south by incorporating Rectory Road, Stoke Newington Common, and the northern part of Amhurst Road. Shacklewell housed a manor that at that time was occupied by the Eron family. Cecilia, the youngest daughter of humanist Thomas Moro, married a family member in 1525. The house was later occupied by the Tyssen family, who owned much of Hackney. Shacklewell oggimodifica wikitesto

Shacklewell in today's world is one of the worst defined districts of Hackney, as some of its areas were embedded in neighboring districts of Stoke Newington and Dalston. In fact for a Londoner it is not common to say that he lives in Shacklewell. You understand where the residents of the area live with their postal code. If they live in the area identified as N16 they consider Stoke Newington, instead they live in Dalston if their area is identified as E8. Notemodify wikitesto
