Symphony No. 2 (Use)


Fridrich Bruk completed his Symphony No. 2 in 1999. After his first symphony about the Finnish Civil War, his second was based on his own youth. This began dramatically with his mother's early loss. That is why the opening of this work and part 1. Part 2 is more emotional and deals with his youth and first love. The third part is about his later childhood.

The symphony has the title of "for orchestra and piano", but that solo instrument is not always heard. In part 1 the piano is missing, only in part 2 are the sounds to be heard and in the course of work it becomes an increasingly important party. Symphonies of Bruk are difficult, but this symphony is not known if the work has ever been heard at a professional stage.
