Commission for the Development of the Niger Delta

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is a Nigerian federal government agency to organize a Niger delta development program through oil wealth established in 2000 by President Olusegun Obasanjo. In 2008, President Umaru Yar'Adua announced the establishment of a ministry for the Niger Delta to which this agency will be subject.

The commission works with oil companies operating in the region to regulate mining operations. It also collaborates with the FAO and the United Nations Development Program to implement rural development policies. Notemodify wikitesto Voices correlateemodify wikitesto
