International Society for Plant Pathology

The International Society for Plant Pathology (ISPP) is an international association focusing on the worldwide promotion of phytopathology and the dissemination of knowledge regarding plant diseases and the monitoring of plant health. The organization was founded in 1968 and is affiliated with the International Union of Biological Sciences (IUBS) and the International Union of Microbiological Societies (IUMS). There is also a relationship with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

The ISPP is sponsor of an International Congress, the International Congress of Plant Pathology. This conference will be held every five years from 1968. There are international partnerships with various organizations, including the European Foundation for Plant Pathology. The ISPP is setting up committees to deal with specialist areas of work or problems within phytopathology. With the International Newsletter on Plant Pathology, the organization keeps people informed of the activities.

In collaboration with Springer, the ISPP is responsible for the scientific magazine Food Security. From 1993 the Jakob Eriksson Prize set in 1923 was awarded at the International Congress of Plant Pathology for contributions to the knowledge of phytopathology. Externe link
