Louis Leplée


Louis Leplée (Bayonne, April 7, 1883 - Paris, April 6, 1936) was the director of one of Paris's cabaret, Gerny's, located on the Champs-Élysées. Arletty's friend, was the discoverer of Edith Piaf.

He died in his home in Paris on April 6, 1936, shortly after making the first record of the French singer; this event provoked a vengeance against the singer Edith Piaf, considered as an accomplice, who almost cost her almost a career. The death of Louis Leplèe is still enveloped by the mystery.
