Matthijs (Matthias or Matheus) van Dulcken was governor of Roermond in 1610, 1616 and 1629. In 1627 he became governor of the town of Grol (Groenlo) on behalf of Spain where he was appointed governor of the Upper Gelderland. He had the total command of the town of Groenlo during the siege that the city suffered in 1627 by the troops of Federico Enrico d'Orange. During the clashes, Dulken was injured on a shoulder by a bullet bullet while surviving the battle and signing the agreements signed on August 19 that same year for the surrender of the Spaniards and the sale of the city to the Republic of the Seven Provinces Unite Netherlands.

He ended his term as Mayor of Groenlo in 1629 and served for a period as schepen. He married Helwich van Wessum and the couple had a single son, Christophorus, born in 1593. Notemodify wikitesto Links externalize the wikitesto
