Melukhkha

Melukhkha (sometimes transcribed by Meluḫḫa, but also by Melulha or Melukha) is a Sumerian term indicating a foreign country with which the Sargon's Aramaic Empire traded via the sea (end of the 3rd millennium BC)

Some scholars think it was Eritrea, but most follow the views of Asko Parpola and Brother Simo, who consider it to be Harappa's proto-Indian civilization. In fact, Sumerian weights and seals have been found in the excavations both of Harappa and of Mohenjo-daro (and a conversion system of the respective units of measure: decimals for the valines and sessagesimale for the aces). However, bilingual texts were not found, which would have allowed the translation of the mysterious Walloon language.

The trade between the two peoples was, in all likelihood, exploiting the seasonality of the Monsons, by sea and submarine, since the Akkadian boats were not structured to face the open sea.

In some neo-Assyrian texts, which document Assurbanipal Assyrian King's successes, the term means Nubia. Notemodify wikitesto ikitesto
