Fairy-to-be (... - 1896) was a Niuean sovereign.
It was the seventh patu-iki (king) of Niue Island, in the Pacific Ocean, from 1887 to 1896. It was the second Christian king. He was officially invested in patu-iki charge on November 21, 1888 even though he began to play his role as sovereign since the death of his predecessor Tui-toga, the year before.
One of his first acts of monarch was to write to then British queen Victoria, demanding that Niue be annexed to the Empire in the form of a protectorate, to avoid the annexation by other colonial powers. The letter remained unanswered and Fata-a-iki wrote a second letter in 1895. The Queen will reply to this letter only in 1900, after the death of Fata-a-iki, with Niue's annexation to the Empire. p>
