Franciscus Binkes


Franciscus Binkes (Amsterdam, 17 January 1794 - Sneek, April 16, 1835) was a Dutch lawyer and judge.

He studied in Leiden and studied there in 1819. On December 27, 1819 he became a lawyer in the Hof van Friesland. On September 27, 1827, together with Hendrik Amersfoordt and Freerk Fontein, he founded the Provincial Friesch Society for the practice of Frisian History, Ancient and Linguistics. He was also a member of the Leeuwarder literary-historical society Constanter. From 17 February 1825 until 18 February 1832 he was a judge in the court of Sneek.
