Jan Jacob Dijkveld Chair

Jan Jacob Dijkveld Chair (December 11, 1903 - September 16, 1978) was a Wagening researcher and historian.

Dijkveld Chair gained significance with the publication of the true monograph The thousand-year history of "The Nergena" in the middle of the polders of Wageningen and Bennekom, in 1968 in a limited edition of 50 copies issued by his employer, the Institute for Breeding Research of agricultural crops in Wageningen. Dijkveld Stol did research on the influence of some factors on the yield differences between some oats, but also conducted the necessary historical research. The institute was housed in a new building on the former estate of Nergena, a building that is also one of the Top 100 of Dutch reconstruction period monuments, commissioned by former minister Ronald Plasterk.

Although the title seems to indicate that only the estate is being discussed, it is in fact a monograph on the Wagenings and Bennekom part of the Binnenveld. The material was collected in connection with the opening of the new building of its institute in 1954, but the publication left for another 14 years. Emphasis is placed on the ownership history. The research was used, inter alia, by Ellen Palmboom for her dissertation on the chapter of Sint Jan in Utrecht. The book is included in the Repertoire History The Netherlands.

Jan Jacob Dijkveld Chair remained unmarried. He passed away at the age of 74 and was buried at Leeuwerenk Cemetery in Wageningen.
