It's the first January of 1818 in London and the novel opens with the protagonist, seriously ill, who is getting caught out of a library with the intention of waiting for the owners to get out of it to pick them up. He encounters a giant corpse that he would want to find in his pockets for money when he was surprised by three men intent on knocking him down and mutilating him. The corpse, however, rises and eats the three men, then carries the boy on his shoulder to take him to an attic where he can cure where he looks like Cretor. Cretur and Billy decide to take each other for convenience, but with the continuation of the novel they become friendly until they decide to leave the British capital together and leave for a long journey north, confronting thieves of corpses, scientific experiments, bloody bloodstains and impossible love, on the traces of a scientist who delights in dark arts and has committed a horrible sin that can not be forgiven and whose name is Victor Frankenstein.
