Xuanmiaotempel van Suzhou


The Xuanmia Temple of Suzhou is an important very old Taoist temple that lies in the Chinese city of Suzhou in Jiangsu Province. The building has been on the National Heritage List since 1982.

The temple became 276 n. Chr. built. During the Western Jin Dynasty, the temple name was "Zhen Qing Dao Yuan" (真 庆 道 院). During the wars of the Song Dynasty, the temple was destroyed. In the period 1174-1189, the temple was rebuilt and in 1264 it received the old name "Xuanmiao Guan".

The temple complex's pit comes from the time of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms. The main hall of the complex is the hall where the San Qing is celebrated.
