British Malaysian

Extension of British Malay between 1909 and 1946.

The term British Malaya (British Malaya) indicates a group of states of the Malay Peninsula that were British colonies from the eighteenth century to the first half of the 20th. These colonies were not subject to a single administration: British Malaysia included the Straits Settlements, the Federated States of Malaysia and the non-federal states of Malaysia. British Malaysia ceased to exist in 1946 when, to simplify administration, the entire region except Singapore was unified under the Malaysian Union. The latter dissolved again in 1948 when it was replaced by the Federation of Malaysia. Finally, he gained independence on August 31, 1957, and so was born Malaysia, which later expanded to include British Borneo in 1963.
