The Virginian Encyclopedia was conceived for Virgil's twentieth anniversary, and was published by the Institute of the Italian Encyclopedia. It is conceived after the Dantesque. Both Encyclopedias are to be regarded as related works on a structural and ideal basis. Composed of five volumes and one sixth as an appendix, it offers critical and hermeneutical help, while supporting a broad and deepening knowledge of the varied virgilian world, welcoming voices of various trends and making contributions from different experiences. The Latinist Francesco Della Corte, Director of the Virgilian Encyclopedia, availed himself of an unquestionable Steering Committee composed of Ferdinando Castagnoli, Massimiliano Pavan and Giorgio Petrocchi. Head Editor: Umberto Cozzoli ..
