Fruit jenever is an alcoholic drink based on neutral alcohol of agricultural products with added juice or extracts of different fruits. However, it should also be made on the basis of only alcohol and aromas. The alcohol percentage of all fruit crops is 20 to 24%. As a basis for these fruit crops, grain mint is used mixed with fruit juices.
Fruit breeds are a predominantly Belgian tradition. For the preparation of most fruit breads, freshly squeezed, concentrated juice and / or fruit extracts are used. Certain jenevers also contain flesh, so shaking is appropriate. Most fruit juices have enough of their own fruit sugars. Only the cranberry, lemon, elderberry and blackberries have added a little sugar.
Popular flavors are: cactus, hazelnut, lemon, peach, apple, cherry, passion fruit, plum, banana, blueberries, strawberries, raspberry, cranberry and elderberry. They lend themselves well to an aperitif and in long drinks and cocktails.
