Killing-vectorveld

In the Riemann geometry, a mathematical part of the mathematics, a Killing vector field (commonly called Killing or KVF) is named after German mathematician Wilhelm Killing, a vector field on a Riemann variety (or pseudo -Riemann variety), which stores the metric. Killing vector fields are the infinitesimal generators of isometrics; that is, currents generated by Killing vector fields are its continuous isometrics. Simply put, the current generates a symmetry, meaning that moving any point on an object over the same distance toward the Killing vector field will not disturb the distances on that object.
