Magnificat (Kilar)


Wojciech Kilar composed his Magnificat for soprano, tenor, bass, choir and symphony orchestra in 2006. It is his second big mist after his Mass for the Peace of 2000. Kilar composed a classic liturgical Magnificat, further refining his own style and returned to his Catholic faith. His style consists of a mixture of classical music from Baroque, romance, Polish folk music and a touch of minimal music.

Its Magnificat has the default parts and starts with an instrumental introduction:

The premiere was held in 2006 in Warsaw in the Holy Cross Church by Antoni Wit with his Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra and the following soloists to commemorate the Constitution of May 3, 1791, 215 free admission.
