Marijke van Raephorst


Marijke van Raephorst (Rotterdam, April 11, 1909 - The Hague, October 26, 1990) (pseudonym of Alida Maria "Puck" de Graaff-Tuk) was a Dutch writer who is especially acquainted with her fairytale stories.

She made her debut in 1946 with the novel Voor de tweesprong, uitgegeven aan Uitgeverij Hollandia. Subsequently, she concentrated on collecting and bundling foreign fairy tales and myths, resulting in works of fairy tales from, among others, China, Ukraine, Japan, Scandinavia, India and Egypt.

In addition, Van Raephorst was active as a judge for the Dutch State Prize for Children's and Youth Literature.
