Annemarie Cox


Annemarie Cox (Roermond, July 22, 1966) is a former Dutch and Australian canoe artist. She participated four times in the Olympic Games and won a total of two medals.

In 1988, she made her Olympic debut at the Seoul Olympic Games at the age of 22. On these Games, together with her fellow Annemiek Derckx, she obtained a bronze medal in the K-2 500m kayak class. Cox and Derckx were both members of the Roermond Watersports Association Nautilus.

She later married the Australian canoe Steve Wood, who participated in the Olympic Games, 1992, 1996 and 2000 under the name Annemarie Cox-Wood. At the 1996 Games in Atlanta, she again won a bronze paste on the K2 kayak part 500m, along with the Australian Katrin Borchert.
