Oberhausen gasometer
Gasometer Oberhausen is a large gas container in Oberhausen (Germany), with a height of 117 m, and is included in the European Heritage Route.
The gas container was built in the period 1927 to 1929 and was taken out of service in 1988. Since 1993, the former gas container is an exhibition center.
The Gasometer Oberhausen between the Rhein-Herne Canal and the CentrO shopping and recreation center is the symbol of the city and is also responsible for the structural changes of the Ruhr area. The gas container is included in the Route of Industrial Culture, which goes along all industrial sights in the Ruhr area. 2013
