The Abraham Kroes pumping station is located on the Schielands Hoge Zeedijk-West on the Hollandsche IJssel near Moordrecht. The building was realized in the period 1968 -1971 to design by J.v.d. Boogaard and J. de Haan and named after Abraham Kroes (from 1932-1944 heemraad, and until1967 dike warden of the Zuidplaspolder). The pumping station is owned by Hoogheemraadschap van Schieland and the Krimpenerwaard.
The pumping station is equipped with four helical centrifugal pumps with concrete slag hoses. The unique thing is that polder and colostrum are united in one complex. Also see 51° 58′ 40″ NB, 4° 39′ 7″ OL
