Livot Lekha (also called LaNetzah Ahi) is an Israeli song written by Aviv Geffen in memory of his friend Nir Shpiener , who died tragically in a car accident in 1992, at the age of 18. Aviv and Nir were used to playing together.
Afterwards, the song was re-used many times, often to remember the death of young soldiers, as the text speaks of someone's premature death.
The song became very famous in Israel following the assassination of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin when Aviv Geffen sang her in his memory.
