The Gunnbjörn Reefs (Gunnbjarnarsker) were a group of small rocks located between Iceland and Greenland, discovered by Gunnbjörn Ulfsson in the 9th century. They became an almost compulsory stage for ships traveling to Greenland, and in 970 we tried to found a small colony. Snaebjörn Galti visited them around 978. A subsequent attempt was successful, and in 1391 there were 18 farms. It seems that in 1456, according to Ruysch, the islands were "completely burned" and sunk. Notemodify wikitesto
