Steenkamp is a nature reserve at Kotten south of Winterswijk. It is also (besides nineteen other areas) part of the National Landscape Winterswijk, which was proclaimed in 2005 by the Dutch government, an area of almost 22,000 hectares. Flora
Through a marked meadow, the nature reserve Steenkamp can be walked along heaths, pools, fields and meadows, separated by woodwalls with oak, sledge and canyon. In the beginning of the 20th century the region was mined for agriculture. Now there is more space for nature. Due to the renovation work of the Vereniging Natuurmonumenten, there is still a small amount of sun-drench and spine on the heath. Source
