Urenui is a place in the Taranaki region on the northern island of New Zealand. The site is located on Highway State Highway 3. The location is near the shore of North Taranki Bay. At 13 kilometers east of Urenui is the place Waitari and 6 kilometers southwest of the place Timi. The Urenui River flows out into the North Taranki Bay.
About 3 kilometers east of the place is the Urenui marae, the only remaining marae in the maori iwi Ngāti Mutanga.
The city had 429 inhabitants in 2006, an increase of 6 compared with 2001.
